Start A Session

Launch a secure video call with your clients

Serene includes a built-in telehealth platform for conducting video sessions. All calls are HIPAA-compliant and encrypted — no extra software needed.

Telehealth requires an active subscription with the telehealth addon enabled.

Starting a New Session

1. Click Start on the "Start A Session" card on your Dashboard
2. Choose Create a new session room
3. A room is created and you're taken to the telehealth interface
4. Share the session link with your client — they join directly from their browser

Joining an Existing Session

If someone else created the room (e.g., a team member), you can join it instead:

1. Click Start on the card
2. Choose Join an existing session
3. Paste the room link or room ID
4. Click Join

The system validates that the room exists and is still active before letting you in. Rooms expire 90 minutes after creation.

Things to Know

• You can only be in one telehealth session at a time — the card is disabled while a session is active
• Your client joins via a browser link with no downloads required
• Recording is available during the session (always obtain client consent first)
• If you want to generate notes from the session, use Session Scribe to capture and transcribe it
