Start A Session

Launch a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth video call with your clients directly from your Serene dashboard.

What is Telehealth?

Serene's telehealth feature provides you with a secure video platform to conduct therapy sessions remotely. All sessions are HIPAA-compliant, ensuring your client conversations remain private and protected.

How to Start a Session

  1. Navigate to your dashboard and locate the "Start A Session" card in the Quick Actions section
  2. Click "Start" to open the telehealth setup dialog
  3. Configure your session:
    • Enter a room name or use the auto-generated one
    • Review your audio and video settings
  4. Share the session link with your client
  5. Click "Join Session" to enter the telehealth room

Important Notes

Session Limitations

You cannot start a new telehealth session while another session is ongoing. Make sure to end your current session before starting a new one.

Best Practice

Always obtain explicit consent from your clients before recording any telehealth session.

Troubleshooting

Can't start a session?

  • Ensure you're not already in an active telehealth session
  • Check your browser permissions for camera and microphone access
  • Try refreshing your dashboard

Client can't join?

  • Verify you've shared the correct session link
  • Ensure your client is using a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
  • Check that the session is still active
